Research Report - Delhi
While Members of Parliament (MPs) are tasked with deliberating on the law-and-order issues of the city, the subject is often neglected amongst other matters of national importance such as Army, Navy, Air Force and other security issues. Analysis of deliberations show that no questions were asked by MPs on crime against women and crime against children in Delhi from Monsoon 2020 to Budget 2021, although this is a major problem in Delhi.
Research Report - Mumbai
Mumbai’s Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) need to ensure that deliberations are followed through and reforms are made in correlation to their deliberations. A maximum number of questions (97 questions) were asked on ‘Police and establishment’. However, reform in this area has not been effectively implemented.
