The data in this folder were taken from the National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) "Crime in India" report. The data were downloaded from the NCRB's website (https://ncrb.gov.in/en/crime-india) in PDF format (included in the "raw data" subdirectory), and were then translated into csv and stata formats (see the corresponding subdirectories). These data comprise the primary measures of "court efficiency" used in Amirapu, Amrit (forthcoming), "Justice Delayed is Growth Denied: The Effect of Slow Courts on Relationship-Specific Industries in India", Economic Development and Cultural Change (https://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/711171).
